Halloran receives award from RMC

Congratulations to our very own Peter Halloran who has been selected as the outstanding student representing Rocky Mountain College's (RMC) education program's Cohort VI.

Peter was selected by his peers representing the cohort as an exemplary aspiring leader. Peter will be honored at RMC's student awards banquet on Tuesday, April 8.

Good work, Mr. Halloran, and how wonderful that our students are given the gift of your expertise and joy!

Judge seniors submit 'World of 7 Billion' video contest, advance to second round

Judge Memorial Catholic High School seniors Allyson Dugan, Jackie Morgan and Isabel Romano submitted a video to the "World of 7 Billion" video contest and, out of over 900 entries, have moved on to the second round, one of only 180 entries selected to advance.

The contest, sponsored by Population Connection of Washington, D.C., asked students to create videos that illustrated the connection between population growth and one of the following global challenges: climate change, global poverty or water sustainability. Read more »

Mathletes: Formula for Success

Although our football team has seen their fair share of attention this year due to their honorable 3A state victory, one more team at Judge is making their journey towards a state title, and they will be taking a more demanding route. Unlike the football team, our mathletes will be facing larger schools that feed from wider districts, thus making the competition significantly tougher. Read more »

Art Show: Climbing the Canvas

The Annual Judge Memorial Art Show is a way for artists to communicate their emotions to a viewer through a piece of art. As senior Julia Wheatley put it, “I'm making my art to convey what I want to say without words to someone I may have never met before.” For many students at Judge, art is a therapeutic hobby, a way to relieve their stress from the copious amounts of homework. Thorsen '16 receives national recognition for excellence in German

Judge Memorial Catholic High School sophomore Kendall Thorsen was recently notified by the Utah Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) that she is a finalist for the National German Exam’s AATG/PAD Study Trip Prize, an honor that comes to very few in the state of Utah. Next in the selection process is an intensive interview that will be conducted in both English and German. National trip recipients will be selected later this spring.

Judge Memorial Faculty, Staff receive Diocesan Honors 2014

The Diocese of Salt Lake City held its annual Professional Educators’ Day on Friday, March 14, 2014. The annual gathering was held at the Skaggs Catholic Center.

The Most Reverend John C. Wester, Bishop of the Diocese of Salt Lake City, received the Diocese's annual "Christ the Teacher" Award in recognition to his commitment and service to the Diocesan Catholic Schools and to Catholic education. Read more »

Dugan '14 accepted as a Presidential Scholar applicant

Judge Memorial Catholic High School is proud to announce that senior Allyson Dugan has been accepted as a spring 2014 Presidential Scholar applicants, one of only 53 students from the State of Utah so honored.

All candidates are invited to apply to the program in January of their graduation year. Applications are due in February. Semifinalists are announced in Mid-April and all Scholars are announced the first week of May.

Sawaya earns certification from UCLA

Congratulations to our very own Jeanette Sawaya who just completed her two-year College Counseling degree/certification with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Through incredibly hard work and commitment to her studies while working full-time with the Judge Memorial students, Jeanette will graduate with honors.

Jeanette, who is a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, has taught at Judge Memorial for decades, was named the National Dance Teacher of the Year in 2000.
