P. Prohibited Items

To ensure the safety of others and freedom from distraction, the use of personal digital devices, including but not limited to, cell phones, electronic tablets, personal listening devices and the like are not permitted during the school day. In general, these devices are not allowed in any classroom, the cafeteria, hallways or studios.

Currently there is a pilot program underway to determine the appropriate use of these technologies in our classrooms. Only those teachers who are part of the program and their students will be allowed to use devices in their classrooms, and when the teacher determines the use will improve or enhance student instruction and learning. The pilot program does not grant permission for students to use electronic devices whenever or wherever they choose.
If a student is using one of these items, it will be confiscated. Confiscated items may be collected from the Dean’s Office by a parent or guardian. Students are advised that Judge Memorial is not liable for valuable personal property and students should not bring such items to school.
