Long Distance Learning

Annual class retreats, Teton Science School in Wyoming, Close-up in Washington, DC and foreign exchange programs open students' minds to the realization that learning surrounds us, wherever we go. Awareness begins when students recognize their sense of place.

GAPP is a cultural exchange program with students from Chemnitz, Germany. Every other year the German students study at Judge, and the following year Judge students go there. Our partner school is Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-Gymnasium (college prep high school). In the summer of 2006 ten Judge students will be staying with the families of the students whom they hosted the previous year here at Judge. Our students will also be attending class there and making oral presentations about American life and customs in German to various classes there. Click here to read about their trip on their Judge blog.

Close Up in Washington, DC is a spring travel and study opportunity for students grades 11-12, with departmental approval. Interested students attend after school workshops in governmental process in preparation for a week in Washington, where they watch government in action and interview government officials.

Teton Science School is a dynamic learning opportunity that encourages active participation. The winter ecology program will require classroom and field work, which involves long hours and often cold temperatures. A specially designed academic curriculum will challenge you and require full participation. Click here to read about the 2008 trip on the TSS Judge blog. Applications are available from Mr. Angelo.
