Kate Bills has been a member of Judge Memorial’s Math department since 1989. She is the AP Calculus instructor teaching both AB Calculus and BC Calculus.

Ms. Bills left the field of engineering to pursue a teaching career. She wanted students to have the math skills necessary to follow their dreams and “with a strong math background they can be anything!” This decision in career path may have been in part, due to the influence of her own high school teacher.

Many may be surprised to learn that Ms. Bills had as her English teacher, Ms. Linda Simpson, a beloved former teacher at Judge. “She believed in me. She encouraged me. She inspired me. I didn't have confidence in my writing and I did not see English as a strength. Her encouragement was a major turning point in my confidence. I will be forever grateful to have been her student.” This belief, encouragement, and inspiration, that Ms. Simpson so lovingly shared with Ms. Bills, is visible in Ms. Bills' work with her own students.

When asked what advice she would share with students, she shared this quote:

“Determine to be men and women of integrity, do the right thing, even if no one is looking.”

In her free time, Ms. Bills loves spending time with her family, playing board games, traveling, and watching movies. She loves to read and loves to learn.
